On December 16th, at the invitation of Professor Junqiang Wang, Academician Weihua Wang from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited NIMTE and delivered an academic report entitled "Amorphous Alloys VS Human Civilization".The report attracted a large number of teachers and students from all over the institute.
Academician Weihua Wang developed the application of amorphous alloy in the origin and development process of human civilization, and elaborated the important role of amorphous alloy in the scientific development in detail through many examples. On this basis, he deeply explained the non-equilibrium properties of the amorphous alloy, and pointed out that this non-equilibrium properties makes the amorphous alloy have excellent properties, but also leads to a certain brittleness. Due to the characteristics of short-range ordered and long-range disorder in amorphous alloys, he and his team conducted in-depth research on the implied physical mechanism, and introduced the progress made in his long time in the manufacturing of amorphous alloy, including the research of ultra-slow scale dynamics of amorphous alloys. Finally, he pointed out that the research direction of amorphous alloys will focus on using orderly regulation to explore new materials in the future.
